Easter

The kids discovered the Easter Bunny does visit Denmark as well, although the candy is not quite the same unless you prefer black licorice infused candies. There are certainly no "normal" jelly beans to be found. They do chocolate thankfully and that was the majority of what the Easter bunny brought this year. It seems plastic eggs, filling them, hunting for them, etc is an American thing - not a European thing at all so fortunately we packed our box marked "Easter" and had access to our container just in time.

Ron and Raegan made a big Easter snowman in our front yard prior to Easter - fitted with bottle cap eyes, carrot nose and a pretzel mouth. Amazingly, even though it's been sunny and the temps over 40 degrees, the snowman lasted about 10 days.

We also colored Easter eggs with what we could scrounge up. The shops in this country close down Thurs/Fri before Easter and then again Sun/Mon. So, we had food coloring and no vinegar. They were a little pale...the kids didn't seem to mind though.
The kids awoke on Easter morning to an egg trail leading down to their Easter baskets where Wyatt proceeded to sneak off and eat more candy than Raegan. Then we tried out a new church service here (interesting, it was in BOTH Danish and English) and in the afternoon had an egg hunt in the backyard.
