Move in day arrived!!

The whole family was beyond excited when the time finally came for our containers to be delivered and we were able to move into our house in Charlottenlund, a little town/suburb about 3-4 miles north of our apartment. We didn't realize how much we missed all of our things until we had them back. However, we definitely realized how much we missed having space - the kids were even tired of having "sleepovers" sharing the same room - and missed a backyard of course. Baxter was even growly pretty much all day (oh wait, that's normal).

The front of our house (I do plan to add photos of the interior when it's not a mess)

Our house is located a few houses off a roundabout which has 5 roads that lead off of it in different directions - one way takes you go into the little "downtown" of Charlottenlund with boutiques, restaurants/take-out, grocery stores - if you continue through this direction about 1.5 miles you will land at the ocean at an area that has a big fort and nice beaches (if the weather ever warms...). Here are a few pictures of this beach/fort area (the land in the far distance in the pictures is Sweden).

Another another way off the roundabout takes you directly to Raegan's school and back towards the city, another one takes you into a little area called Ordrup - also with stores, restaurants, houses, and the last 3 take you by neighborhoods and huge parks.

One park by us is a large equestrian area where I'm told they give riding lessons and they even have a small horse racing park that opens this month. Somewhere in this same area is an amusement park called Bakken that we have not found yet but I'm sure we will as soon as it opens for the season.
Yes, this is a person riding a horse down the street in front of our house. It took me a bit to get used to it, but it's normal. Raegan loves it - ever since our trip to the most recent Bandera dude ranch she has been in love with horses. I quickly realized to avoid any unpaved trails around the parks - they are also used by the horses. I will take my chances walking in the bike lane before risking stepping in that.

Another park pretty much across the street is a very large off leash dog park with great rolling hills, nice green (well, currently brown but I hope they are green soon!) spaces, an old palace type building now repurposed as a conference center. We will clearly never bring Baxter there off leash but I've taken the kids and they enjoy meeting friendly dogs that actually like to be pet.  All the areas I mentioned are within a 1-2 mile radius of our house. Here is this park ( called Bernstorffs ... something)

  1. How exciting! It sounds like your place is right in the middle of everything.
