But we arrived to our "cozy" temporary apartment and have settled in nicely. The white building below is our front door and the picture below that is a view of our street. The last one is a view out our back window of the courtyard.
We are enjoying our great city location and the close proximity to so many things to do while we wait for our furniture to arrive in a few weeks. Of course, I can't say that I enjoy walking up and down 4 flights of stairs (no elevator) each time we want to go out. Especially since Wyatt is a stubborn 2 year old that insists "I do it!" and it takes about 20 min to get up or down the stairs. Add on the time it takes to put on all the layers required to go out in 30 degree temps and its quite an ordeal to go outside. However, once we finally get outside we are having a great time exploring the city.
Our very first trip outside we went walking down Osterbrogade and we definitely stuck out as foreigners. Ron scraped up enough snow to make a snowman for the kids. The kids thought it was great but the Danes gave us some sideways glances since it has been a long winter here and the snow is not a novelty at this point in the season. If you watch the video below you will probably notice me calling the church a castle. The kids were really excited to come here and see castles - they think all the churches here look like castles.
Our apartment has a nice playground in the courtyard out back that the kids enjoy pretty much daily.
We also frequent the fantastic Faelledparken which is a short walk down the street. There are several play areas for kids, including in ground trampolines, swings, creative playsets, trails, and when there is snow there is a place to sled.
There is even a tree at this park where the babies hang their pacifiers when they say goodbye to them. Wyatt still has his paci and found the tree mesmerizing.
On the other end of Faelledparken is a place called Tower Park with replicas of some famous buildings in Denmark for the kids to play on. Although it's in the same park as the one above, the park is so large that this is actually a bus ride away for us since we only have a stroller for Wyatt at the moment and Raegan doesn't do well walking distances. But it's worth the trek.
I can't believe you have to do 4 flights of stairs each time with the kids... I can imagine how hard that would be, especially after grocery shopping or something. It sounds like you guys are having so much fun! I love the pics. Can't wait to read the next post (doing that right now). :)
